BAYLOR PROFESSOR TALKS GREEK REVIVAL - Dr. Kenneth Hafertepe, Department Chair, Professor in Museum Studies, Baylor University, gave a short course in Greek Revival Architecture last Tuesday to members of the DRT Ezekiel Cullen Chapter, Kaylin Burleson and Lois Lacy. He referred them to the book by Michael McCullar, Restoring Texas, Raiford Stripling’s Life and Architecture and its pages about the houses in San Augustine designed by Augustus Phelps that Mr. Stripling restored. ARCHERY CONTEST WINNERS - The San Augustine 4-H Clubs held an Archery Contest during the SA Junior Livestock Show and Fair this past weekend. The competed in 4 divisions which included Senior Division Sighted, Senior Division Non-Sighted, Junior Division Sighted and Junior Division Non-Sighted. The High-Point Shooters in each division received Belt Buckles sponsored by 1st Pentecostal Church, 4 King Cattle, F2 Horse and Cattle and D & L Works. Second and third place winners received gift cards from Shelby Savings Bank and Commercial Bank of Texas.
