Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Jewel Smith Galloway, age 95, of San Augustine, Texas were held Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel with Bro. Danny Bentsen and Sis. Sherry Harding officiating. Committal service and interment followed at Liberty Hill Cemetery in San Augustine.
She passed away Friday, February 14, 2025, at Colonial Pines Care Center.
Gladys was born September 11, 1929, in San Augustine to parents Pink and Susie (Cooper) Smith and had been a longtime area resident. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother as the matriarch of their family. Mrs. Galloway was a member of the Full Gospel Church and was a faithful pastor's wife always standing with her husband, the late Rev. James Galloway, who was the founding pastor of Bronson Revival Center.
Her survivors include her daughter, Shirley Blue of San Augustine; a son-in-law, Pat Jacks of Pineland; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Smith; grandchildren, Sherry and Jeff Harding, Johnnie and Linda Hodge, John and Jeannie Blue, Patrick Jacks, Sabrina and Raymond Worthy, and James and Kelly Lakey; 15 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
