LANDON HARDY

February 19, 2025

Funeral services for Mr. Landon Hardy, age 48, of San Augustine, Texas, were held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Liberty Hill Memorial Garden in San Augustine. He passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas.
Landon loved his family with all his heart, his wife was his soul mate and his children were his pride and joy and he relished telling anyone who would listen about their accomplishments. As a dad, he was proud of the spouses his children chose to spend their life with. He loved his younger brother, looked up to him and wanted to be more like him. He loved playing with his niece and spending time with her brother and his wife. He loved being with his parents, especially his father with the words of wisdom he would share. He loved being with his mother as much as he could with her still disciplining him even at 48. He also liked to spend time with his aunt, or his partner in crime.
Landon owned several businesses including Landon Hardy Trucking and Chrome Enterprises. He would travel all over the United States working as an Inspector for the pipeline believing each job came with a vacation.
He loved his family and friends, wanted them close, so he got them started in the pipeline industry and the trucking business. His true love was riding horses and tending to cattle. He said nothing smelled better than cow manure or horse sweat. Landon loved the National Anthem and a prayer before climbing on the back of a horse to bareback rider; raising his hand up in the air saying, “let’s go, let’s go.”
When he walked into a room, you knew he was there by the smell of the cologne; it was nobody but Landon Hardy. He loved his jeans starched until they could stand up by themselves. He never met a stranger. If you spoke to him, he knew your entire history and you knew his in a short time. Landon was one savvy politician and when he politicked, he could sell you that ocean front property in Arizona as if he had it to sell, but of course it had to be his selling price.
Landon struggled with alcoholism but fought diligently to overcome the disease. He loved helping others overcome the disease and multiple individuals reached out to the family to let them know how much he helped them in their journey to sobriety. Landon had a kinder side where he would give you the shoes off his feet if you needed them, literally giving a pair of his cowboy boots to an evangelist.
He loved to cook especially with a “little” spice unlike his mother. He would deliver food to people he cared for like his 97-year-old mother-in-law. He loved all the holidays, but especially Christmas, celebrating Jesus' birthday with the children. He also enjoyed decorating his home with multiple Christmas Trees and Christmas decoration in every room of the house. Birthdays were also very important for him to celebrate, whether it was his or anyone else’s, but he went all out for his wife.
Landon loved music and dancing especially under the stars with his wife. He would try to sing but he couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket, but that didn’t keep him from singing a little louder. His heart was so full of love and affection, as he showed it to strangers, friends, and his family, but especially his wife. His favorite past time was sitting on the couch holding Carolyn’s hand watching a romance movie, that was his routine every night. Landon’s faith was strong and if you ever heard him pray you could hear the gift God gave him.
Landon and Carolyn loved reading the Bible together and learning the Lord’s word. At work, Landon would be a walking billboard for Jesus with scriptures embroidered on his work shirts. Landon always wanted to reach out to others was his testimony, but Jesus had Landon tell his testimony by calling him home.
