ANGELIA "GUEN" STRICKLAND

Angelia Guen Strickland, 53, of Hemphill, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at her residence.
Guen was born on August 14, 1971, in Hemphill, Texas, to Joe Wayne Jacks and Diann Impson Jacks. A lifelong resident of Sabine County, she graduated from Hemphill High School and worked as a pharmacy clerk for Brookshire Brothers. She was a member of Camp Springs Baptist Church.
Guen had a deep love for caring for her plants and enjoyed reading. She was very family-oriented and had a special fondness for children.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 31 years, John Strickland of Hemphill; her mother, Diann Jacks of Yellowpine; her daughter, Amanda Strickland of Hemphill; her brother, Adrian Jacks and wife, Tricia, of Hemphill; her sisters, Janet Sutton and husband, Ray, and Marie Williams and husband, Clay, all of Yellowpine; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Wayne Jacks.
Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025, in Yellowpine Cemetery under the direction of Starr Funeral Home, with Bro. Kevin Windham officiating.
