Funeral services for Marcell Harper, 91, of Hemphill, Texas were held Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas with Bro. Bryce Harper officiating. She passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Legacies Nursing and Rehab in Hemphill.
Marcell was born in Jasper, Texas on March 27, 1933 to Andrew Harris and Julia Stowell Harris. She was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She had been a Sabine County resident for more than 25 years, previously living in Beaumont, Texas. Burial followed services in Harper Chapel Cemetery with Christopher Bonnette, Bennett Harper, Landon Knott, Justin Knott, Jeremy Long, Clete Stewart, Shane Jones and Hunter Patterson serving as pallbearers.
She attended First Baptist Church in Hemphill and was on the Board of Directors of the Sabine County Senior Citizens Center.
Marcell is survived by her daughter, Lonnett Bonnette and husband, Clifford, of Beaumont; son, Butch Harper and wife, Joan, of Hemphill, Lynn Harper and wife, Mary Jo, of Beaumont and Lanis Harper and wife, Vickie, also of Beaumont; sister, Geneva of Florida; nine grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren.
