James Donald "Jim" Haas, age 79, of San Augustine County, Texas, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Haas was born May 31, 1945, in Akron, Ohio, to parents Sara Alice (Pond) and Charles Richard Haas. Jim has lived in several places throughout his life; however, San Augustine has been home since 2009. He retired after working many years as a mill wright.
He is survived by his wife, Cassie Haas of San Augustine County. He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy.
A Celebration of Life is being planned at the family residence on May 31, 2025, which would be his 80th birthday.
