Memorial services for Jody (Norris) Hasken, 65, of San Augustine, Texas will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 12:00 noon in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Beckett officiating, with a reception following in the Carroway Family Reception Room. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hasken was born December 20, 1959 in Houston, Texas to the late Dorothy Gwen (Hill) and Jay H. Norris, and died Thursday, February 6, 2025 at her residence.
Jody earned her degree in nursing and followed that career path for a number of years. She then returned to school, earning her degree in Geography. Her happy place was the ranch they lived on near San Augustine, where she enjoyed having cattle, chickens, turkeys and her dogs. She loved spending time doing anything outdoors. Another passion was sewing and quilting. Jody was involved in helping to raise funds for the Twin Lakes Rehabilitation and Care Center, by assisting patients there in making quilts that would be sold to benefit the nursing home. From a young age, Jody was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Ron Hasken of San Augustine; siblings and their spouses, Paula and John Pierce, Jay Lynn and David Pryor, Brady and Shawn Norris, all of Texas; father-in-law, Richard Hasken; brothers-in-law, Richard Hasken and wife Laurie, Randall Hasken and wife Kathleen, Russell Hasken and wife Sarah, all of Illinois; sister-in-law, Angela Flores of Virginia; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bandina Christian Youth Camp, 320 Bandina Ranch Road, Bandera, Texas 78003.
