BETTY WOMACK
Betty Ann Womack, a cherished mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on June 27, 2024, in Three Rivers, Michigan, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born on October 6, 1943, in Many, Louisiana, Betty was the daughter of the late George and Mabel Stephens, who instilled in her the values of love, kindness, and industriousness that she carried throughout her life.
Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her son, Billy W. Womack and brother, Billy Stephens.
Left to cherish the memory of Betty is her son, James (Carolee) Womack; grandchildren, James (Samantha) Womack, Nick (Kyla) Womack, Kayla Ann Ball, Kassandra Ball, and Mason Hernandez; great-grandchildren, June Elizabeth Womack, Izabell Grace Womack, Melanie Katherine Womack, Jase Womack, and Autumn Womack; sister, Shirley (Johnny) Meshell; sister-in-law, Linda Stephens; nieces and nephews, Dean Meshell, Don Meshell, Cindy Meshell, Dave Meshell, Kevin Meshell, Connie Stephens, and Tammy Stephens, and daughter-in-law, Deborah June McCroskey.
Betty's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family, a trait that anchored her as a devoted single mother. Her strength and generosity knew no bounds as she worked tirelessly to provide for her sons, cultivating a home filled with warmth and affection. Her ability to create a nurturing environment was unmatched, and her children will remember her as their constant pillar of support that was always available to lend an ear or a helping hand.
Although Betty was a very quiet person, her closest family and friends knew her as a loving and kind individual. She shared a special bond with her sister, with whom she cherished spending time and who stood by her through thick and thin. He dedication to her family was evident in everything she did, from cooking scrumptious meals that gathered everyone around the table to being a confidante and mentor.
Beyond the joys of motherhood and kinship, Betty found pleasure in life's simple delights. She was a huge George Jones fan, his music often the backdrop to many family gatherings. Her love for soap operas was well known, and she never missed an episode, following the intricate plots with keen interest. On quiet afternoons, Betty was likely to be found with a mystery book in hand, thoroughly engrossed in solving the latest fictional crime. Her passion for reading was not only a pastime but also a testament to her intelligent and curious mind.
Her hardworking nature was evident not only in how she raised her family but also in her personal pursuits. Betty's diligent and self-reliant spirit led her to take pride in her work and to overcome the challenges of life with grace.
