PRISCILLA DELATEJA POWELL
Priscilla Delateja Powell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on June 26, 2024, in Hemphill, Texas, at the age of 73.
Priscilla was born on December 23, 1950, in Cuba, to Heriberto and Carmen Delateja. She graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Hygiene from Baylor University and dedicated her career to serving the community of Hemphill, Texas, alongside her husband, Dr. Donald Powell.
Priscilla was not only devoted to her profession but also cherished her roles as a loving wife to Donald Powell and a nurturing mother to her children: Teresa Newman, Jared Powell, Rob Powell, and Deborah Powell. She was a cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren: Austin Powell, Spencer Powell, Ethan Powell, Haleigh Thetford, Willie Ray Powell, Raylee Powell, Wesley Mae Powell, and Geordi Newman. She is also survived by her sisters, Carmen Bush and Uni Delateja, whom she loved dearly.
Priscilla found joy in many hobbies and interests, including her love for movies, cooking, live classical music, collecting stones, shells, and arrowheads, and exploring new places through travel. She was known for her generous spirit, always giving more of herself and her possessions than she received. A devoted wife, mother, and friend, Priscilla will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Private services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made on her behalf to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
